Hi, I'm Rebecca Couch

I'm Rebecca Couch — Registered Nurse, Dairy Farmer and wife to my husband Brad, with whom I share both life and business on our family dairy farm in South West Victoria.
Together, we've built a life around family, farming and community, and are raising our three children — Jack, Charlotte and Esther. With two teenagers, a tweenager and a mother navigating perimenopause under the one roof, there have certainly been moments when our home contained enough fluctuating hormones to power a small country town. Thankfully, Brad usually finds himself cast as mediator, peacekeeper and occasional referee as we all find our way through the various stages of life.

The Wellness Couch Co. was born from both lived experience and clinical curiosity.

Somewhere between farm life, raising a family, immense brain fog, night sweats you could swim in, washing linen daily, joint pain, fatigue, irritability and wild rage, I began to wonder: what on earth is going on?

At one stage, I genuinely thought I was either losing my mind, becoming permanently cranky, or simply exhausted from wearing all the hats so many women wear. Turns out there was a little more to the story.

As a nurse, I started researching. That search led me to perimenopause — a term that wasn't even on the nursing syllabus when I trained.

For so long, menopause was explained simply as: eggs run out, periods stop, menopause begins. But for many women, the story starts years earlier — often while still working, caring for others, managing homes, running businesses, supporting families, building careers, volunteering in communities, or simply trying to make sense of why they suddenly no longer feel like themselves.

In 2024, I was selected as one of 20 women for the Rural Women's Leadership and Mentoring Program. Through that experience, something became very clear — rural women needed more conversations, more education and more support around perimenopause, menopause and midlife health.

What began through incidental conversations at the gym, bumping into women down the street, chats at the grocery store, conversations at the cricket or local footy, and even worried partners quietly asking, "What is happening to my wife?" slowly grew into something much bigger.

Women were talking.
Women were searching.
Women were realising
they were not alone.

And from those conversations,
The Wellness Couch Co. was born. This is a space created to support rural and regional women through education, storytelling, practical tools and honest conversations.

Many women in farming and rural communities have limited access to services. A GP appointment may mean travelling long distances, and access to a menopause-informed clinician or specialist can feel even further away.

The Wellness Couch Co. exists to help bridge that gap by providing practical, evidence-based education that is relatable, accessible and grounded in real life.

But this conversation is about more than hot flushes and hormones.

It's about ageing well.

Perimenopause and menopause are not simply the end of periods — they are a transition into the next stage of life. Women may spend 20–30 years or more in their postmenopausal years, and that means how we look after ourselves now truly matters.

My passion is helping women understand that this stage is not about "giving up" or simply putting up with symptoms. It is about learning how to support our bodies so we can age with strength, confidence, knowledge and choice.

The earlier women understand what is happening within their bodies, the better equipped they are to advocate for themselves and make informed decisions about their health — not only for today, but for the decades ahead.

I have developed the PeriPause Power Hour — currently delivered as a personal information session designed to provide practical, supportive and relatable education for women navigating perimenopause and menopause.

Think less clinical lecture... more real conversations women actually need.

What started as conversations in the dairy, at school pick-up, around sporting grounds and over cups of coffee is now creating opportunities to bring these discussions to larger audiences.

In August 2026, I will be presenting Hot Flushes in the Paddock: The Hormone Shift Rural Women Aren't Prepared For at the Women on the Land Conference (Women Together Learning) in Bendigo,

And Permission to Pause at the
South West Dairy Ladies Luncheon.

These opportunities are a reflection of what I see every day: women wanting trusted information, practical tools and honest conversations about their health.

My hope is to continue expanding The Wellness Couch Co. through coaching, workshops, online programs, practical resources and downloadable toolkits designed specifically for busy rural and regional women.

Take a listen to Episode 12: Rebecca Couch - Hot Flushes and Cold Rage on the Recovering Idiots Pocast.

Because women deserve access to knowledge, support and the reminder that they do not have to simply "put up with it."
